ShipMesh

Terms

Last updated October 26, 2026

These terms cover the ShipMesh private beta. By installing the ShipMesh GitHub App or using app.shipmesh.dev, you agree to them.

The private beta

ShipMesh is invite-only while in beta. We approve each installation by hand; until an installation is approved, ShipMesh posts a neutral check and doesn't analyze its pull requests.

Your responsibilities

How the gate behaves

ShipMesh reports its verdict as a GitHub check. Whether that check blocks merging is up to your branch protection settings. If ShipMesh can't reach a verdict within 60 minutes, it resolves the check by policy: low- and medium-risk changes pass with a warning, and high-risk changes are blocked, so no merge is stranded indefinitely. An owner can sign off without explain-back on medium-risk changes; when they do, the reason is recorded on the check, in the decision record and in the audit log.

Your content

Your code and repositories remain yours. You let ShipMesh process them only to run the gate for you, as described in our Privacy page. Decision records ShipMesh writes into your repository are yours too.

The service

The beta is provided as is, without warranties or uptime commitments. Features may change or be removed while we learn from the beta. To the extent the law allows, ShipMesh isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the beta.

Ending

You can stop at any time by uninstalling the GitHub App. We may suspend or end access to the beta, for example to protect the service or other customers.

These terms may change as ShipMesh leaves the beta. We'll update the date above when they do.
